“We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it — and we say so clearly.”
Our Commitment to Accuracy
The Mount Olive Chronicle is committed to accurate, fair journalism. When we publish a factual error — a wrong name, incorrect figure, misattributed quote, or any other mistake — we correct it as quickly and transparently as possible. Accuracy is the foundation of everything we publish, and we take corrections seriously.
How We Handle Corrections
Where corrections appear. Corrections are published at the top of the original article, clearly labeled, with a description of what changed and the date of the correction. We do not silently edit published articles.
Significant corrections. If a correction substantially changes the meaning or conclusion of an article, we note it prominently and, where appropriate, publish a separate correction notice on our social media channels.
No silent edits. We do not change the substance of a published article without noting the change. Minor grammar or formatting corrections that do not affect meaning may be made without notation.
Response time. We aim to review and publish corrections within 24 hours of receiving a credible error report.
How to Report an Error
If you believe something we published is factually incorrect, please contact us with as much detail as possible — the article title or URL, the specific error, and what you believe the correct information to be. If you have a source or document that supports the correction, please include it.

What We Do Not Change
We do not alter published articles based on requests from sources, story subjects, or advertisers to remove accurate and legitimately published information. Corrections are for factual errors only — not for information someone wishes had not been published.
