Prime Visa Offers $200 Amazon Gift Card Welcome Bonus to New Members

THE POINTS GUY

New applicants for the Prime Visa card can receive an instant $200 Amazon gift card upon approval, according to a current welcome offer. This offer is exclusively for Prime members and does not require any spending to receive the gift card.

The Prime Visa, issued by Chase, is Amazon’s flagship credit card. It has no annual fee, but requires an active Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

Cardholders can earn unlimited bonus categories, including 10% cash back or more on select rotating products and categories at amazon.com. Additionally, the card offers 5% cash back on purchases made at Amazon, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods. Travel booked through Chase Travel℠ also earns 5% cash back.

The card provides 2% cash back on gas, local transit, commuting (including ride-hailing services), and restaurants, including takeout and delivery. All other purchases earn 1% cash back.

Rewards are earned as points that can be redeemed for cash back, Amazon purchases, gift cards, or travel booked through the Chase Travel portal. Rewards can be redeemed as soon as the following day after they are earned. For example, spending $1,000 at Amazon would yield $50 in cash back at a 5% rate.

The Prime Visa also includes purchase and travel protections such as extended warranty protection, lost luggage reimbursement, travel accident insurance, and travel and emergency assistance.

Eligibility for the card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule. The card may not be the best option for those who do not frequently shop at Amazon or do not have a Prime membership. The information for the Prime Visa was collected independently by The Points Guy and has not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
